One step closer to postpone the Medical Device Regulation (MDR)
Last Friday, the European Parliament adopted the EU Commissions proposal on delaying the MDR with one year. However, before the proposal enters into force, it also has to be approved by the Member States and published in the Official Journal. According to the Parliament, this is expected at the latest by May 26 2020.
The postponement implies that a number of legal, regulatory practical and clinical considerations may need to be made in order to strategically relate to the changed time frame.
